IPD Group has an exciting opportunity as we are seeking for General Manager – Wholesale and play a pivotal role in shaping IPD's future success.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Sales, this role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne and will be responsible in leading business planning and execution, supporting and empowering our Wholesale Sales Team, and building strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

About the role:
In this role, you will lead and motivate the Wholesale Sales Team, oversee business operations and uphold high standards of customer service while driving IPD’s growth and profitability.
Owning the profit and loss for the Wholesale Business, ensuring all financial targets are being achieved while identifying opportunities for growth and cost efficiency.
Developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, incorporating input from the sales team and securing necessary approvals to drive business success.
Mentoring and supporting Wholesale Salespeople, helping them meet individual sales, gross margin, and order targets through coaching, supervision, and tailored development plans.
Assessing and supporting the ongoing training and development needs of the team, coordinating with Customer Service and Technical Support to enhance overall effectiveness.
Maintaining a deep understanding of the nationwide market landscape, identifying sales opportunities, understanding customer demographics, and monitoring competitor activities and offerings.
Collaborating closely with other IPD business units and key customers, ensuring market feedback is being communicated to Product Marketing to inform strategic decisions.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you:
Relevant tertiary qualifications or degree in business, sales, engineering, related discipline or relevant industry experience.
Extensive experience in the Electrical Wholesale Channel or a similar distribution environment.
Strong understanding of commercial terms, pricing, and wholesale business operations.
Proven track record in sales leadership, team management, and business development.
Experience in monitoring performance goals, metrics, and overall team outcomes.
Proven experience in managing targets, budgets, and financial objectives.
Knowledge of and experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, by example, and work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
