Job Description

Are you a results-driven sales professional with genuine passion and drive? If you’re ready to take on a new challenge, IPD is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our Buildings & Infrastructure (B&I) team in a Sales Development role.

Reporting to the Sales Manager and based in our Wetherill Park office, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, understands the electrical, mechanical and buildings sectors, and is ready to take the next step in their sales career.

Supported by a collaborative and experienced team, you’ll be empowered to exceed sales targets and play a meaningful role in IPD’s continued growth and success.

About the role:

This is a market‑facing sales role focused on growing ABB ACH580 Variable Speed Drive sales through strong relationships with mechanical contractors across the HVACR sector.

As part of IPD’s Buildings & Infrastructure team, you’ll work directly with contractors to support HVAC projects from early opportunity through to installation and commissioning. You’ll be on the phone, on site, and in front of customers — helping with drive selection, pricing, tenders, and ensuring IPD is the preferred partner on key projects.
Backed by experienced product managers and specialists, you’ll combine technical understanding with commercial insight to help contractors win work and deliver reliable, energy‑efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving ACH580 VSD sales growth via mechanical contractor relationships
  • Supporting HVAC projects, pricing, and tenders
  • Building relationships with estimators, project managers, and site teams
  • Managing opportunities, quotes, and reporting in CRM systems
  • Providing market feedback and coordinating joint visits with specialists
     

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Qualifications in HVACR, Electrical, or Mechanical fields is desirable
  • Previous experience in sales within the HVACR industry is highly preferred
  • A solid understanding of contract and tendering processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage KPIs, sales margins, and performance metrics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management and planning abilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally to meet with client
