Job Description

IPD Group is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Manager to lead and oversee the end-to-end assembly operations. This role is key in ensuring timely production, efficient resource management, and consistent delivery of high-quality products.

About the role:

  • Leading and managing the end-to-end assembly process, ensuring timely and efficient production and dispatch of products.
  • Owning the entire assembly operation flow – coordinating effectively between the stakeholders including but not limited to Sales, Drawing, Estimation, Customer Service & Assembly teams.
  • Managing resources efficiently to support the profitability and overall financial performance of the business
  • Monitoring and managing production output and aligning with delivery timelines in collaboration with Project Coordinators and Workshop Manager.
  • Driving a strong continuous improvement to enhance manpower utilisation factor, reduce waste, and support innovation in production processes.
  • Liaising with purchasing teams to support accurate forecasting of consumables to support uninterrupted production
  • Establishing and maintaining robust processes to ensure that all products meet industry’s leading quality standards.
  • Representing the production workshop in internal meetings, providing updates, insights, and solutions to management and project teams.
  • Ensuring all work is conducted in a safe, compliant, and professional environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing standard operating procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Proven background in switchboard or electrical distribution board manufacturing with strong knowledge of industry workflows.
  • Strong understanding of AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000, and related safety standards.
  • Preferably with strong knowledge of manufacturing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in production scheduling, capacity planning, BOM and consumables management, and performance tracking.
  • Proficient in CRM, ERP, and digital tools for workflow and resource management.
  • Experienced team leader with excellent communication skills, capable of presenting strategies, reports, and documentation.
  • Experienced in quality systems, NCRs, and corrective actions.
  • Competent in goal setting, cost control, and aligning production with business objectives.
  • Committed to fostering and maintaining a strong safety culture.
