Are you an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong electrical background and a passion for building high-performing teams? Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Section Leader to take ownership of our growing Assembly Business and drive operational excellence across a diverse range of electrical assembly solutions.
In this hands-on role, you'll oversee day-to-day production operations, mentor and develop a skilled assembly team, and ensure customer orders are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
About the role:
As the Section Leader, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating IPD's Standard Assembly Business while working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders.
- Overseeing day-to-day assembly and manufacturing operations.
- Planning and coordinating production schedules to meet delivery targets.
- Monitoring production performance and resolving bottlenecks.
- Leading, coaching, and developing the assembly team.
- Promoting a safe, productive, and quality-focused workplace culture.
- Ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Driving continuous improvement and resolving recurring production issues.
- Managing material availability and addressing supply-related challenges.
- Monitoring KPIs, including productivity, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualification as an Electrical Engineer or or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or electrical assembly environment.
- Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and prioritisation abilities, with the capacity to perform effectively under production and project deadlines.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical switchboard assembly, including the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying, resolving, and escalating issues.
- High attention to detail, commercial awareness, and an understanding of production costs, efficiencies, and operational performance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
