Job Description

Are you a technically minded Product Manager with a passion for driving product growth and delivering innovative solutions? IPD has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager – Industrial Communications to join our team! In this role will act as the key internal link between suppliers, marketing, sales, and support, ensuring seamless communication and strategic alignment. 

Reporting to the Business Manager – Automation & Motor Control, this opportunity is available across multiple IPD locations, including Wetherill Park (NSW), Brisbane (QLD), Noble Park (VIC), and Canning Vale (WA).
About the role:

As Product Manager, you will support our IPD sales team in driving business growth and ensuring the success of our Industrial Communications product portfolio. By collaborating proactively with the marketing team and leveraging insights from across the business, you will generate product demand, drive sales growth, and contribute directly to achieving revenue targets.

  • Providing the sales team with technical expertise, resources, sales tools, and training materials to maximize success in securing opportunities.
  • Assisting sales specialists in understanding the technical requirements of project opportunities to secure business.
  • Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge of assigned products and competitor offerings.
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans and coordinating with the marketing team for execution.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
  • Identifying growth opportunities and driving sales within the portfolio.
  • Discovering and sourcing new product opportunities.
  • Planning and producing technical tools to support the sales team.
  • Developing and delivering internal and external product training programs.
  • Ensuring all work is performed safely and professionally.
  • Performing other tasks as directed by management

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strong stakeholder management skills. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, be passionate about delivering customer-focused solutions, and have a proven ability to drive product growth and business outcomes.

  • Qualifications in a technical discipline related to Industrial Communications and/or Automation technology is desirable.
  • Proven experience in brand or product management, ideally in a technical sales environment.
  • Strong industry knowledge and experience in related markets and products.
  • Solid understanding of contract and tendering processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage KPIs, margins, and sales performance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support business objectives and stakeholder engagement.
