Job Description

Are you a commercially astute leader with a passion for electrical technology, business growth, and team development? We're looking for an experienced Business Manager – Power Distribution to drive the strategic direction, commercial success, and market growth of our Power Distribution business.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a growing portfolio, shape product strategy, build high-performing teams, and make a significant impact across the electrical industry.

About the Role:

As the Business Manager – Power Distribution, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, development, and commercial performance of the business nationally. You will play a critical role in driving sustainable and profitable growth by identifying new market opportunities, strengthening vendor partnerships, and enabling sales success.

  • Developing and executing growth strategies for the Power Distribution business 
  • Identifying new supply partners, technologies, and product opportunities that support sustainable growth.
  • Driving sales performance and profitability through market analysis, competitor monitoring, and the identification of emerging industry trends and opportunities.
  • Managing and growing the Power Distribution product portfolio through strong technical, commercial, and inventory management practices.
  • Developing and implementing marketing initiatives to strengthen product positioning, increase market penetration, and support business objectives.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing Product Management team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the sales team through product expertise, training, demand generation, and specification activities to maximise customer engagement and sales success.
  • Collaborating with Marketing to deliver effective campaigns and building strong relationships with vendors, customers, and key industry stakeholders.

About You:

You are a commercially driven leader with strong technical knowledge and a proven ability to grow product-focused businesses. You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy building relationships, and have a passion for developing teams and delivering exceptional business outcomes.

  • Qualifications in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Trade Qualified Electrician
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing product management or commercial teams
  • Previous experience in Electrical/ Power Distribution is preferred as a minimum
  • Proven track record in business unit management, including sales figures and KPI margins.
  • Marketing qualifications or equivalent commercial marketing experience
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to build long-term relationships
