Are you an experienced technical and commercial leader who excels at driving major projects from concept through to successful delivery?

We are seeking a National Technical & Commercial Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping and securing some of Australia's most significant infrastructure and building projects across Data Centres, Healthcare, Mining, Industrial, and Premium Commercial sectors.

About the role:

As the National Technical & Commercial Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the success of major project opportunities, providing technical and commercial leadership throughout the bid review and approval process. Partnering with stakeholders across the business, you will ensure submissions are technically robust, commercially competitive, and strategically aligned.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading technical and commercial reviews of major project bids to ensure compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment. 
  • Validating bids against client specifications, consultant requirements, industry standards, and internal engineering guidelines. 
  • Identifying and mitigating technical, commercial, and contractual risks prior to submission. 
  • Reviewing and validating Bills of Materials (BOMs), project pricing, Special Price Agreements (SPAs), and supplier commitments. 
  • Ensuring vendor and contract terms support project requirements and appropriate risk positioning. 
  • Governing bid approval processes and ensuring compliance with internal financial and risk frameworks. 
  • Preparing and delivering technical-commercial presentations to senior leadership, clearly articulating solution compliance, pricing strategy, margins, risks, and recommendations. 
  • Influencing executive decision-making through data-driven insights and go/no-go recommendations. 
  • Acting as the key liaison between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Executive teams throughout the bid process. 
  • Mentoring and supporting teams in bid governance, compliance, commercial structuring, and best practices. 
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality, integrated project submissions. 
  • Supporting business development activities across Data Centres, Healthcare, Mining, Industrial, and Premium Commercial sectors. 
  • Building and strengthening relationships with consultants, contractors, end users, and switchboard manufacturers to maximise project opportunities and outcomes.
     

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in LV power distribution, with significant exposure to: Technical bid review and governance, Commercial management and pricing, and Major project tendering (Data Centres, Healthcare, Mining, commercial buildings)
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing senior management decision-making.
  • Experience with leading OEM platforms (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Siemens) desirable.
  • Advanced expertise in technical bid review, compliance validation, and risk assessment.
  • Strong background in commercial review, pricing strategy, and financial governance.
  • Deep understanding of low voltage power distribution systems and design principles.
  • Proven ability to present complex proposals to senior executives and decision-makers.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and risk management capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
