At IPD, we’re looking for a motivated and commercially minded Sales Development to join our Buildings & Infrastructure (B&I) team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a market-facing role where you’ll build strong relationships, drive sales performance, and contribute to our continued business growth.
Supported by an experienced and collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in strengthening market share and delivering sustainable growth across your territory.
About the role:
Reporting to the Sales Manager NSW ACT, you will be responsible for developing and expanding IPD’s presence across key regional markets including Newcastle, Hunter, North Coast, New England, and Central West.
This role combines business development, account management, and technical sales, giving you the opportunity to work closely with contractors, consultants, and industry stakeholders while promoting IPD’s full suite of products and solutions.
Developing and executing a focused sales plan aligned with state objectives
Driving revenue growth while meeting sales, margin, and performance targets
Building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across consultants, contractors, and industry partners
Conducting regular customer visits (approx. 30 per month) to identify opportunities and grow accounts
Identifying, pursuing, and converting new business across IPD’s B&I product portfolio
Supporting tenders, pricing, and quotations while maintaining accurate CRM records
Maintaining strong technical knowledge of IPD products and solutions
Providing market insights, customer feedback, and competitor activity updates
Collaborating with product managers and specialists to maximise sales opportunities
Desired Skills and Experience
About you:
Qualification in Electrical Trade or Engineering (preferred)
Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally within low voltage, electrical, or related industries
Strong understanding of contract and tendering processes
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs, margins, and sales performance
High level of organisation, time management, and planning skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Willingness to travel across your designated region
