Job Description

Are you a results-driven sales professional with genuine passion and drive? If you’re ready to take on a new challenge, IPD is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our Buildings & Infrastructure (B&I) team in a Sales Development role.

Reporting to the Sales Manager and based in our Welshpool office which will be relocating to Canning Vale. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, understands the electrical or infrastructure sectors, and is ready to take the next step in their sales career.

Supported by a collaborative and experienced team, you’ll be empowered to exceed sales targets and play a meaningful role in IPD’s continued growth and success.

About the role:
In this role, you’ll play a key part in growing our sales pipeline and increasing IPD’s market share by managing relationships with Switchboard Manufacturer channel partners and related stakeholders across the region

  • Developing and executing sales plans aligned with state strategy, making around 40 face-to-face sales calls monthly to meet individual and team targets.
  • Building strong knowledge of the Buildings & Infrastructure market, including key channels such as consultants, manufacturers, and contractors, while leveraging IPD’s product range and monitoring competitors.
  • Maintaining up-to-date sales and technical expertise on IPD products and solutions.
  • Managing CRM data accurately, including sales reports and quotations.
  • Providing valuable market feedback to management and marketing teams.
  • Representing IPD effectively within assigned regions and customer channels.
  • Coordinating customer visits with product specialists to support sales efforts.
  • Managing customer pricing, contracts, and discount structures in line with approvals.
  • Participating actively in sales and project meetings to drive team success.
  • Submitting timely and accurate expense claims.
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety and professional standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:                            

  • Qualifications in Electrical trade, engineering discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Previous experience in sales and business development highly desirable, preferably within low-voltage products.
  • Strong understanding of contract and tendering processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven negotiation ability.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing KPIs, margins, and sales performance.
  • Strong time management and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
