Job Description

Are you a goal-driven Product Manager with a passion for Motor Control and Motor Starting Applications products? IPD has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager – Variable Speed Drives to join our team. Reporting to the Business Manager – Automation & Motor Control, this role is open to our offices across Australia including Noble Park, (VIC), Wetherill Park (NSW), Welshpool (WA), Brisbane (QLD) and Keswick (SA) and offers the chance to make a real impact.

In this role, you will act as the key internal link between suppliers, marketing, sales, and support, ensuring seamless communication and strategic alignment. 

About the role:

You will proactively be collaborating with the marketing team and leveraging insights from across the business, you will generate product demand, drive sales growth, and contribute directly to achieving revenue targets.

  • Providing the sales team with technical expertise, resources, sales tools, and training materials to maximize success in securing opportunities.
  • Assisting sales specialists in understanding the technical requirements of project opportunities to secure business.
  • Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge of assigned products and competitor offerings.
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans and coordinating with the marketing team for execution.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
  • Identifying growth opportunities and driving sales within the portfolio.
  • Discovering and sourcing new product opportunities.
  • Planning and producing technical tools to support the sales team.
  • Developing and delivering internal and external product training programs.
  • Ensuring all work is performed safely and professionally.
  • Performing other tasks as directed by management.
     

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in a technical discipline related to Motor Control and Motor Starting Applications (specifically Variable Speed Drives). 
  • Experience in brand or product management, ideally within a technical sales environment.
  • Industry knowledge and experience in relevant markets and products.
  • Strong understanding of contract and tendering processes.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing KPIs, margins, and sales figures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required, including client visits.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Proven communication, negotiation, time management, and planning skills.
