Job Description

Are you a dynamic seasoned marketing leader ready to influence brand perception. IPD Group is looking for an experienced strategically focused General Manager – Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing strategy, strengthen brand presence, and drive customer engagement across Australia’s electrical infrastructure distribution network.

Reporting directly to the CEO. This role can be based out of any of our state offices throughout Australia. This is a pivotal role in the organisation and carries the responsibility of defining and executing marketing and communications strategies that fuel IPD Group’s growth and innovation.

About the Role:

The role will be responsible for leading brand growth, customer engagement, and strategic marketing across the businesses. This includes overseeing all aspects of marketing, brand, and communications to enhance supplier partnerships, elevate market presence, and build customer loyalty across Australia’s electrical infrastructure distribution network.

  • Developing and executing national marketing and communications strategies aligned with the group’s business objectives.
  • Leading brand positioning initiatives to reinforce our reputation for reliability, technical capability, and exceptional service.
  • Managing supplier marketing programs and ensuring brand consistency across business units.
  • Overseeing all marketing channels including digital, print, events, and PR.
  • Driving digital transformation across CRM, eCommerce, and customer engagement platforms.
  • Managing all investor related communications.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing national marketing team.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated 10+ years’ senior marketing leadership experience within electrical distribution or related sectors.
  • Proven record in leading national marketing teams and delivering measurable results.
  • Strategic and commercial acumen within B2B distribution environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Expertise in brand strategy, supplier marketing, and digital platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Data-driven approach to marketing performance and ROI.
