CMI Electrical Products are specialists in the manufacture and distribution of electrical cables and associated components for industrial, mining, infrastructure, commercial, petrochemical and information technology applications throughout Southeast Asia and Oceania. CMI is a fully owned subsidiary of the IPD Group.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as Internal Sales Representative / Warehouse Storeperson! You will be the go-to support for our clients over the phone—assisting with sales, product knowledge, and delivery inquiries. This role also includes hands-on support with day-to-day warehouse operations, making it a great fit for someone who thrives on variety and teamwork.
Reporting to the State Manager, this role will be based in our Rockhampton branch.
About the role:
- Handling customer communication by answering incoming calls, educating customers on product offerings, advising on suitable solutions, and addressing complaints or product enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Managing orders, raising delivery dockets, invoicing, preparing quotes, following up, and assisting with costing and pricing structure updates.
- Determining customer specifications, providing product data or recommendations, raising incident reports, and reporting product quality issues to the State Manager.
- Supporting customer relationships through nurturing existing and new clients, advising on product concessions, and ensuring excellent service to meet customer expectations.
- Updating sales documentation, logging RMAs for returned goods, and raising non-conformances linked to customer complaints.
- Assisting with warehouse operations in preparing orders, receiving and dispatching stock, preventing product damage, and maintaining tools and equipment including forklifts.
- Working within CMI’s guidelines, supporting QHSE standards, and actively promoting a safe, cooperative, and productive team environment.
About you:
- Experience in sales of electrical cable or electrical wholesaling sector.
- Ability to use SYSPRO computer system.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, to work within guidelines and procedures and to provide a high quality customer service.
- Ability to prioritise and plan workflow to achieve outcomes within identified timeframes.
- Ability to maintain accurate written records.
- Current Forklift License or capability of gaining one.
- Ability to follow quality assurance and workplace health and safety practices as applied in the working environment.
